Absolutely. We comply with all regulations and permits required by State and Federal Agencies. (DMV, City Codes and Regulations, Federal Codes for Transportation).
Wheelchair equipped vans with room for 2-3 passengers and sedan’s for ambulatory customers with room for 4 passengers. Our vehicles come equipped with First Aid Kits, TV’s & Radio for Private Listening and entertainment, Air-Conditioning, Smoke-Free Guarantees, Tinted Windows for the Customer’s Comfort and All the Federally Regulated Safety Requirements.
Our drivers are well-trained and experienced in transportation. All drivers have a valid commercial License, CPR/First Aid Training with certification and have passed Medwest’s background screening for Substance Abuse and Criminal Records. The drivers for Medwest Transportation are of highest quality for safety, reliability and customer service.
Yes, we can provide same day services but we cannot guarantee our availability. We ask that all services are scheduled at least 24 hours prior to your appointment to ensure our availability and timely service. Yes, we do allow companions, one complementary free of charge to accompany on a ride. (Note: extra charges may apply in the event that the companion is filling a seat that could have been reserved by a paying customer and or additional companions).
We ask for at least 24 hour notice but we are willing to schedule same day transportation depending on the driver’s route, schedule and availability. (A rush fee of $25.00 dollars apply on same day trips).
Non-emergency medical transportation is a form of medical transportation which is provided in non-emergency situations to people who are NOT in need of special medical attention.
Some examples include: Dialysis Appointments / Clinical Appointments / Dental Appointments / Medical Appointments / Nursing Care Facilities / Rehabilitation Appointments / Chemotherapy Appointments / Wheelchair Transportation / Out-Patient hospital discharge / Board & Care drop off etc.
Medwest bills private pay patients directly. Customers can pay with personal or cashier’s check, money order, or any major debit/credit card. Vendor accounts & contracted brokers are billed Net 15 to Net 30 upon terms and agreement. (Note: Medwest does not accept cash payments).

Wheelchair rentals are $19 and Oxygen tanks can be rented at $23.10 round trip. Please refer to our pricing sheet for additional services and fees.
Wait time is authorized free of charge during the first 15 minutes. After the first 15 minutes, $25 per hour will be charged per every hour the driver must wait. (Note: Rates are subject to be prorated).
Yes, we do provide this type of service. However; we ask that you pre-schedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance to confirm availability.
The driver will never be listening to their own style of music for the respect and safety of our riders. Medwest Transportation will have a variety of music choices for the rider in the event the rider would like to listen to the music of their choice. However, in the event that there are multiple passengers a pre-selected channel will be played for the fairness of ALL passengers. Due to safety reasons, the request must be made upon pick-up so that the driver can focus on driving and not “playing around” with the radio. Our main priority is to provide a safe and responsible trip for our customers!
Medwest does NOT take emergency trips, if rider requires immediate CPR or EMT services we advise to call 911. However if you are in need of ambulance transportation and need to schedule a pickup you can contact our partner company CARE Ambulance services at 1-877-972-0999 and make sure you say “Medwest Transportation Inc.” sent you.
When scheduling an appointment our representative will request the times for appointments starting from initial pick-up and return pick-up (if applicable). Medwest also provides courtesy calls to our scheduled customers 10 minutes before pick-up. In the event your appointment has been cancelled, has been moved to an earlier time or passenger/patient is running late to be ready when driver is scheduled to pick up, we request that we are notified at least 24 hours in advance. Preferably one day or two in advance, to allow us to route trip accordingly and avoid a cancellation/no show fee to be charged to you.
Our central dispatch center has the ability to locate the nearest vehicle and change driver routes upon availability to help fit your transportation needs. We make an effort to minimize our clients wait time by dispatching vehicles nearest the pick-up location. All we ask is, that you provide us with all information we need from you in order to make trip scheduling successful.
